Focus on “life span” housing — including townhomes, condos, cottages, apartments, and senior living — which allows people to choose their abode, ability to invest in the community, and live their entire lives in Avondale if they so choose
Enable property ownership by local businesses
Follow the zoning code to ensure open spaces and natural beauty are incorporated into all development
Foster walkability, accessibility, and connectivity within the city and our neighboring communities
Preservation is active.
Support historic preservation and zoning guidelines that maintain the character and identity that makes Avondale unique
Invest in infrastructure that mitigates the impacts of development and climate change (for example, the long-neglected stormwater systems to help flooding issues; sidewalks, bike routes, and other connectivity pathways that make it safe to walk, bike, and cart throughout the city)
Prioritize the Lake and surroundings to ensure long-term health as the focal point of Avondale’s incredible parks system
Plant trees, build gardens, and support a healthy, symbiotic relationship with wildlife

Ensure that every resident knows they have valuable input, no matter how long they’ve been here, which type of home they live in, or where that home is located
Support community groups that lead and organize neighborhood traditions
Welcome our neighbors from surrounding communities to share in what we love so much and are working hard to build
Actively seek investment from developers, business owners, etc. who value partnership, ownership, and engagement with the community
